Playwrighting – All Levels –
( 6 Classes & 1 Public Reading.) Saturday, June 9 – July 14, 2018
(10am – 2pm) –  Human Race Studio
126 North Main Street, Dayton, Ohio 45402

This class is designed to take the mystery out of playwrighting. The method of building a play is explored through a variety of exercises. Our focus will be on understanding the tools in basic dramatic structure and other aspects of storytelling and the building of a play. There will be a lot of writing, a lot of thinking, some mutual support from other playwrights, a fair amount of laughing, some tasty food at breaks, and a general atmosphere of fun and learning. Each playwright will have a goal of completing work that will be presented in a public reading. Playwrights will have the opportunity to hear their work read aloud by actors and prepared by directors. The class is designed for novices and experienced playwrights, actors and directors alike. No playwrights are expected to begin the class with work already completed.
Participants:  Min: 3 – Max: 8

If you have any questions, please contact Jahzerah Brooks, our Project Administrator, at: opcregistrar@gmail.com

These activities are based on a belief that playwrights need a place to practice & explore, to study & share, and to be given encouragement and a deadline.  We hope you can join us.

All Activities are Hosted by the Human Race Theatre Company,  Presented by the Ohio Playwrights Circle and Sponsored by the American ArtWorks Foundation.
